Aeron Chair
Designers: Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick. Its the most well-known ergonomic office chair ever made. With good reason. As the first to replace fabric and foam with a breathable, woven suspension membrane—its innovative Pellicle seat and back—Aeron distributes your weight evenly, eliminating pressure points and heat buildup. If I need to push the chair in when not in use, should I order a chair with no arms or just lower the chair height sothe arms fit under the counter
Question if for an Aeron chair
Depending on the height of your desk, you may be able to either lower the seat or arms to fit the Aeron Chair under your desk. In addition to seat height, the Aeron Chair has the options of adjustable arms, which could help the arms fit under the chair. Below are the arm height dimensions for the Aeron Chair to help decide if the arms would fit under your desk.
Size A: seat height: 14.4-19.5 inches. Fixed Arms are 7.8 inches, so the arm height to the floor would be 22.2-27.3. The adjustable arm option has an arm height range of 6.8-10.8 inches, so the arm height to the floor would be 21.2-30.3 inches.
Size B and C: seat height: 15.0-20.8 inches. Fixed Arms are 8.5 inches, so the arm hieght to the floor would be 23.5-29.3 inches. The adjustable arm option has an arm height of 6.8-10.8 inches, so the arm height to the floor would be 21.8-31.6 inches.

For right now, the shell for the Eames Rocker is still made from plastic. Herman Miller is re-launching the fiberglass chairs, and will be available for order on the Herman Miller Store in early 2014. The Molded Plastic chairs will still be available for order even with the addition of the fiberglass chairs.

The lounge chair and ottoman have their origin in Charles and Ray’s investigations into molding plywood and a desire to improve upon a familiar fixture in many living rooms: the lounge chair. The Pencil Drawer, available in two finishes, provides at-your-fingertips access to the tools you need for home and office organization. Store pencils, pens, paper clips, and whatever else you need to get the job done in this compact drawer with multiple organizers.. . Not compatible with the Eames Desk Unit.
Is it compatible with the Envelop Desk?
Unfortunately, the pencil drawer is not compatible with the Envelop Desk. Since the Envelop Desk is adjustable and curves downward toward the body, it would make the mounted pencil drawer also curve downward and contents to spill.

What sort of load capacity does the 1 tall x 2 wide configuration have?
Specifically, is it capable of service as a storage unit and some-time bench seating? The design discussion mentions strength and in one of the stock photos there is a bicycle stored on top, but can it handle, say, 2 people sitting on it occasionally?
The Eames Storage Unit 2x1 configuration can support up to 200 pounds distributed evenly on the top shelf. We do not recommend the product be used for seating.

Are doors available on the 2 units wide -1 unit high config?
I want to use the storage unit to hold tv and audio equipment. The door would conceal the equipment. Also, I want to place a flat screen TV on the storage unit. It is a 60" unit that weighs 84 lbs. Will the unit hold that weight?
The standard Eames Storage Unit 2 units wide x 1 unit tall does not come with doors. The storage unit can hold up to 200 pounds distributed evenly on the top shelf.

The side chair is a low-back, armless office chair that also works well at home. It’s now available with arms, a variety of finish and material options, and comes with a 4-star base.
What is the difference between an Eames Aluminum Side Chair and an Eames Aluminum Group Side Chair? I am particularly interested in seat height.
The Eames Aluminum Side Chair has a fixed seat height of 18.25 inches. The Eames Aluminum Management chair has more options for seat height. The seat height for casters with manual seat height adjustment is 17-19.25 inches (measured from the floor), while the casters with pneumatic seat height adjustment ranges from 17.25-22.25 inches. The seat height for glides come with a manual seat height adjustment of 16-18.75 inches. The Management Chair comes with arms, while the Side Chair has an option of arms or no arms. The Management chair also is swivel only, while the side chair has the option to swivel or be fixed.

Hi, I see in an earlier answer that the height of the arm rest for the fixed version is around 9 inches.

The SAYL fixed arm height is 9.4 inches, the distance measured from the compressed seat cushion to the top of the armrest.

Can you paint the balls.
I would love to have the black version with a combination of black, silver and chrome combination. What type of paint should we use?
Herman Miller does not recommend painting any portion of the Eames-Hang-It-All, therefore we are unable to recommend any type of paint. The Eames-Hang-It-All structure is made from welded steel and is painted with a powder-coat finish for durability with daily use.
