 Aeron Chair
Aeron Chair
Designers: Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick. Its the most well-known ergonomic office chair ever made. With good reason. As the first to replace fabric and foam with a breathable, woven suspension membrane—its innovative Pellicle seat and back—Aeron distributes your weight evenly, eliminating pressure points and heat buildup. The Kinemat tilt lets you recline fluidly, and PostureFit puts support where you need it most while seated—at the base of your spine.

How to add a Keyboard / mouse pad or laptop tray to arm of chair?

Although many folks work at a table/desk, sometimes it's nice to recline and work on a laptop. Or maybe I'd like to have my mouse at the same level as my elbow, to reduce arm fatigue. I could even imagine some folks waning a cup holder for long meetings.

Are there any accessories that connect to (or possibly even replace?) the standard arm rests with a small platform?

Or maybe some side-car that would hold an iPad and glasses when your not sitting in the chair, for when you return.

Thanks,
Mark
At this time accessories that connect to or replace the standard arm rests are not offered. We’ve shared your feedback and recommendations directly with our Aeron product folks to formally review and determine next steps. We especially liked your idea of having a side-car option to hold an iPad and/or accessories. Thank you for your valuable feedback and taking the time to submit your suggestions.

Differences between the Weave / Fabric / Mesh?

I realize the different mesh types will look a bit different.

But is there any difference in support? Feel? Airflow, etc?

You have names like "Carbon", "Lead", "Nickel", "Platinum" and then "classic" vs "waves"

So aside from what they look like, are there any other considerations?

Thanks,
Mark
Great Question. Pellicle is a family of materials that are specific to Aeron and were designed exclusively for Herman Miller. It conforms to your body and cradles it, keeping the pressure even across your body—and keeps you cool at the same time. We offer three different types of the Pellicle through the Herman Miller store - Classic, Wave and Tuxedo. All of these materials provide the same support, feel and airflow with the main difference being the aesthetic variation. Each of these variations are available in multiple colors which are the names you mentioned such as carbon, lead, nickel and platinum.

Classic Pellicle weave is a close knit weave
Wave Pellicle has a wave pattern
Tuxedo Pellicle has a diamond like pattern

For your convenience I’ve attached samples of the Classic, Tuxedo and Wave to reference if needed.

If there is anything else we can help with or you would like samples of any of the fabrics please give us a call at 888.798.0202.
